CONWY Borough have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of talented youngster Conor Harwood.

The Tangerines secured the services of the 18-year-old this week from JD Welsh Premier League side Connah’s Quay Nomads, and he joins a forward line that includes the prolific duo of Corrig McGonigle and Dean Seager.

Harwood has been training with the in-form Huws Gray Alliance side in the lead-up to the move to familiarise himself with the set-up, with manager Gareth Thomas stating he was “delighted” to have acquired the powerful forward.

There was further good news from a Boro’ perspective as gifted winger Jack Roberts returned to the squad after a considerable spell of the sidelines.

The Welsh Colleges international tore his cruciate ligament playing for Rhyl in a friendly against Liverpool U23s and recently went under the knife following a significant wait for the procedure.

After a strenuous recovery schedule in a bid to get back on the field, Roberts linked up with the second tier side this week for their training session Roberts was braced for a first ever season in the JD Welsh Premier League after Lilywhites manager Niall McGuinness snapped him up a few short weeks before the injury, and since the setback, the winger has received a great deal of support from clubs across the region and beyond.

After a strenuous recovery schedule in a bid to get back on the field, Roberts linked up with the second tier side this week for their training session which another huge boost to his overall prospects of seeing competitive action in the near future.
