LLANDUDNO Amateurs maintained their perfect Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division record after a thrilling 7-4 victory at Abergele.

The JD Welsh Cup giant-killers made it four wins from as many contests to close the gap on leaders Llansannan, and they took the lead on eight minutes when Martin Hughes slotting home his first of the afternoon.

This provoked a strong response from the hosts, who levelled matters after 15 minutes through Joe Lloyd, only for Aaron Rogers to get the Amateurs ahead once again on 25.

Lloyd notched his second of the contest on 35 minutes with a well-taken finish, and an own goal gave Gele a slender advantage heading into the interval.

After the break saw the away side start extremely well which resulted in two goals in quick succession from Hughes and Rogers, with Mike Chapman adding to their tally after 57 minutes.

The outstanding Hughes sealed his hat-trick on the hour mark, and despite Kane Williams giving the home side renewed hope, Kirk Stephens settled the entertaining affair with 80 gone.

A brace from Ellis Jones did the majority of the damage, with Jamie Haggas, Robin Roberts, Meurig Evans and Sion Devereaux also on target.

Henllan’s positive run of victories came to an end as they were held 3-3 at home by Division One rivals Rhuddlan Town Reserves.

Goals from David Wilkins, Neil Davies and Jason Hessionwere unable to give the hosts all three points, with James Pagett (2) and Phil Heywood securing a share of the spoils.
