COLWYN Bay boss Craig Hogg was left “hurt and embarrassed” after witnessing his side fall to a 6-0 FA Trophy loss at Ossett United.

The Seagulls conceded five goals after having two players dismissed in 14 second half minutes during a humbling defeat, and they will look to get back to winning ways this Saturday during their trip to Trafford (3pm).

Hogg, said: “It’s been a long time since I've been involved in a game of football where we've lost in the manner we did today.

"The thing that frustrates the most is we never once got going or showed the energy that we had in the week building up to the game or in recent games.

"I can accept losing games, but the nature in which we appeared to implode with the two red cards and gifting at least four of the goals to the opposition really hurt all of us in the dressing room.

"I have no complaints about the red cards and the lads involved apologised to us all at full-time. But the penalty in the first half, when there is a clear handball in the build-up, is again a poor decision that has gone against us and I thought we should have had a penalty ourselves shortly afterwards which was waved away.

"But the officials are the least of my concerns. We need to make our own luck and learning from the errors we are making is taking longer than expected; but we have to do it and do it quickly."

Adam Priestley put the hosts ahead from the spot after ten minutes, and things took another bad turn for Bay at the break when defender Neil Coverley was forced off with a hamstring injury.

Luke Horrocks was red carded for violent conduct on 51 minutes when he was clipped from behind as he made a pass out to the left wing, and 14 later Danny Andrews was also sent off for kicking the ball at an opponent following a free-kick.

This opened the floodgates at the visiting end, with Aiden Chippendale, Marcus Day and Karl Brown all hitting the target, and Priestley added two more to his tally for his hat-trick.
