BODEDERN Athletic continued their excellent start to life in Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One with a thumping 7-1 home victory over Llanrwst United.

The newly promoted side made light work of last season’s title challengers to move into second spot in the standings and three points behind leaders Llangefni Town having played a game more.

Aidan Clarke was in ruthless form throughout and managed to help himself to a hat-trick during the rout, with a Dafydd Jones brace another notable highlight from the triumph.

There was no such luck for Barmouth and Dyffryn United, who were narrowly beaten 2-1 at Greenfield, with Mynydd Llandegai turning in a much-improved performance to come away from their home game against Llanberis with a 4-1 victory.

Goals from Alun Hughes and Meilir Williams gave Penrhyndeudraeth a comfortable advantage at home to Llanrug United, but efforts from Eifion Williams and Aaron Hughes in the second period enabled the fourth placed side to secure a share of the spoils after a thoroughly entertaining affair.

Lewis Connor’s leveller after 87 minutes was enough for Llannerchymedd to rescue a 2-2 draw at Division Two title hopefuls Glan Conwy, but Gaerwen did not fare as well and were comfortably beaten 3-0 at Kinmel Bay.

Amlwch Town’s struggles continued as they were downed 4-2 at Llannefydd, with Pentraeth undone by a solitary striker from Benn Lundstram in their 1-0 home reverse to Penmaenmawr Phoenix.

In-form Blaenau Amateurs progressed to the Mawddach Challenge Cup second round thanks to a 4-2 success at Aberffraw.

A brace from Tom Hughes did the majority of the damage, with Sion Roberts and Ryan Hughes also on target for the visitors.
