LLANDUDNO ended their recent run of poor results with a 0-0 home draw with JD Welsh Premier League rivals Cefn Druids.

It proved to be another frustrating evening in front of goal for Iwan Williams’ side against the Europa League qualifiers, but they did manage to claim a point and will look to claim a vital win next Sunday when Tudno make the long trip to Barry Town United (2.30pm).

The hosts were let off on five minutes when a defensive error presented a golden opportunity to Arek Pisorski, but the forward slipped at a crucial moment before getting his shot away and the danger was averted.

Tudno were enjoying the majority of the possession without creating anything significant in the opening exchanges, but they did go close on 25 minutes when an impressive counter attack saw George Harry slip through John Owen, who forced Michael Jones into a smart save to keep the scores level.

Owen went within inches of opening the scoring soon after when his 20-yard effort sailed narrowly wide, and player-assistant manager Matty Williams produced a fine piece of individual skill before eventually firing over on 37.

The Ancients peppered the Tudno penalty area with a series of corners towards the end of the half, and after the break saw the visitors denied by an excellent double-save from Shaun Pearson in the early stages.

Williams’ side were again controlling the play but were lacking a cutting edge in the final third, but a chance did fall to Toby Jones on 54 minutes, but his goal-bound effort was blocked by a despairing defender.

Tudno did have the ball in the net on 72 minutes but it was chalked off for offside, and although they probed for the remainder of the contest they were left frustrated and had to be content with a point for their efforts.
