COLWYN Bay have made significant changes to their board in a bid to stabilise their long-term future.

The Seagulls have announced that Dilwyn Roberts has joined the club in a director role, and he has been involved as a volunteer for a number of years, initially as a steward, head steward, then assistant match day secretary until taking over that role on a full-time basis earlier this season.

A former football referee, now keen golfer, Roberts has supported the club since the age of seven, but Paul Edwards has relinquished his role as acting vice-chairman and secretary due to escalating work commitments.

A club spokesman, said: “We wish Paul all the very best for the future and hope to see him at the Four Crosses Construction Arena soon.”

Taking over from Edwards is Nikki Grainger, who will be the club’s new secretary with immediate effect.

Grainger has supported the Bay since 2013, after she moved to the area from Deeside to get married.

In her spare time, the new appointment is kept busy with four children - Willow (23), Ollie (18), Natasha (10) and Emma (8).

A keen follower of football, Grainger has also supported Southampton since around the age of eight, with the club spokesman adding “everyone wishes Nikki and Dilwyn the very best of luck in their new roles”.
