LLANDUDNO remain on the WRU National League Division One North summit thanks to a 31-7 bonus point victory at home to Mold.

The Goats extended their perfect league campaign to ten games with another impressive display, and they now enjoy a break over the Christmas period before hosting Caernarfon in the new year on January 5.

The hosts opened the scoring on ten minutes when a sensational passing move from inside their own half resulted in recent signing Arthur Lennon touching down, and the fly-half dusted himself off to fire over the conversion.

Things got even better for the title hopefuls soon after when another sustained period of phases saw Rhys Henderson cross the white wash after 22 minutes, but this was met by an instant response for the visitors’ courtesy of a converted try which turned out to be their only points of the contest.

Oscar Lennon was the next to benefit for the Goats when he went over on the half hour mark, and they closed out the half in fine style when Henderson scored his second try of the afternoon with 38 gone. Lennon added the extras.

After the break saw the home side find it difficult to break down a spirited Mold rearguard, but their persistence finally paid off on 60 minutes when replacement Gareth Coy produced a fine individual run to score under the posts. Lennon converted the try to complete the scoring and round off another accomplished display from the Goats, who remain ahead of Pwllheli and defending champions Nant Conwy.
