A YOUNGSTER has earned recognition for an outstanding year with Penmaenmawr Sailing Club.

Daniel Blair, 13, was presented with the Commodores Trophy at the sailing club's presentation dinner at Conwy Golf Club.

During 2018 he entered every race held and won more than any other club sailor.

He won the Cold Finger Race, the Puffin Race, the RNLI Charity Race and the Brian Butterworth Junior Merit.

The year also saw Daniel pass his 'Power Boat 2' course and his RNLI first aid course.

The club commodore, Gerry Frobisher, presented the trophies won by members.

The awards recognised those who have enjoyed sailing success during 2018, as well as members who have provided great assistance or long service to the club.

The evening ended with live entertainment from the Reggae Knights.
