A STUNNING start saw Llandudno secure an emphatic 45-10 home bonus point victory over Denbigh.

The WRU National League Division One North pacesetters turned in another scintillating attacking display, which leaves the Goats remain three points ahead of Pwllheli having played a game more than their championship rivals.

The home side wasted no time in getting their noses in front and scored two tries in the opening exchanges when Rhys Henderson and Lloyd Evans both went over during a significant period of pressure. Former RGC Academy member Nick Dundee despatched both conversion attempts.

An injury to recent Argentinian acquisition Santiago Mentesana halted their momentum briefly, but the hosts managed to extend their advantage with another try soon after when Dundee finished off a sweeping team move, which he also converted.

This same pattern of play continued throughout the first half as Oscar Lennon crossed the white wash, with Dundee adding the extras, and the away side got themselves on the score board with a well-worked try just before the break.

After the interval saw the Goats continue to pile on the pressure and former Denbigh star Dan O’Sullivan was the next to go over, and this was swiftly followed by Henderson’s second score of the afternoon to put another exclamation point on proceedings.

Credit to the visitors, they kept fighting and got another try on 70 minutes, but the Goats had the final say when a surging drive from the pack saw Billy McQueeny touch down from close range. Dundee drilled over the conversion to round off the scoring.
