COLWYN Bay playmaker Craig Pritchard has earned a national call-up ahead of Futsal’s most prestigious competition.

The gifted playmaker has been a huge contributing factor in the Seagulls’ success so far this term, and he will be part of the Wales squad that will test their skills at the Futsal World Cup in Moldova from January 27 until February 3.

Pritchard made his move to the Bay this summer after a standout spell at Huws Gray Alliance side Denbigh Town, where he played a starring role for Eddie Maurice-Jones’ men as they secured their highest ever league finish after coming in second behind eventual champions Caernarfon Town.

Manager Craig Hogg, said: ‘It’s a fantastic achievement for Craig and as a club we are delighted and very proud of him.

“He’s been excellent to work with here at Colwyn Bay and it’s great to see that he’s been selected for our nation for such a prestigious event.

“We wish him and the squad every success in the World Cup and know they will do our country proud.”

This is the latest in a series of notable milestones for the player, who harbours ambitions to rise through the English system and made a key contribution from the bench in Colwyn Bay’s outstanding win over Trafford last weekend.

He has been a member of the Cheshire Futsal side for some time and made his presence felt within the national set-up during the recent Home Nations tournament.
