RHUDDLAN Town progressed to the Presidents’ Cup semi-finals with a superb 2-1 extra-time victory at Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division leaders Llansannan.

Wayne Edwards Hughes’ side produced another exceptional display on their travels to extend their unbeaten run to seven games in all competitions, with a Jay White effort on 25 minutes putting the away side in front.

They were denied victory at the death when Liam Handy turned the ball into his own net in stoppage time, but Whitehouse was on hand to convert his second of the tie on 101 minutes to book their place in the hat.

Llandudno Athletic also reached the next stage of the competition thanks to an outstanding 4-2 derby win over Llandudno Amateurs.

The home side got off to the perfect start and went ahead on two minutes when Jamie Moorhouse finished well, but the visitors responded well to the setback and went into the break with a lead thanks to a pair of quick-fire efforts from Ryan Williams and Matty Beach.

After the interval saw Athletic get back on level terms through Jack Williams on 47 minutes, and they grabbed the initiative once again on the hour mark when Danny Talbot broke clear and finished well.

The same player proved to be the difference late on, with Talbot rounding off the scoring on 77 minutes to crucially double their advantage.

Machno United were another side to reach the semi-final stage after a hard-fought 2-1 home success over Cerrigydrudion thanks to goals from Rhydian Williams and Joe Owen, with Abergele managing to secure an eye-catching 2-0 win at Llanfairfechan Town courtesy of efforts from Jack Hoult and Lewis Moroney.
