LLANDUDNO manager Iwan Williams further bolstered his squad with the deadline day acquisitions of Yalany Baio and Sameron Dool.

The talented duo arrived at the JD Welsh Premier League side from troubled Bangor City, who saw a host of influential squad members depart last week to reduce their wage bill after debts of £80,000 were revealed by the club.

Both new signings made an instant impression for Tudno in their encouraging draw at Aberystwyth Town, and Williams was delighted to get two more bodies on board ahead of their Phase Two survival fight.

He said: “I’ve been a long admirer of Baio from the first game I saw him play for Bangor at the start of the season.

“He is someone you do not want to play against. He’s tenacious, aggressive and has bags of energy. He gets about and breaks play up and is exactly the type we need to fight moving forward.

“Sam is a classy player who is highly rated. He is very technical, box to box type player and has a pass in him.

“He grew up through the West Brom Academy up to the Under 23’s and was very unlucky not to break into the first team.”

“Both Yal and Sam are great characters who have shown an interest to fight for Llandudno. What makes it better is both are versatile and can play in a number of positions.

“People have already written us off before a ball is kicked in the second phase but we’re not giving up, and both Yal and Sam will help our cause immensely.

“I’d like to personally thank Fletch especially given the difficulties he and everyone at Bangor City are currently encountering.”
