LLANSANNAN saw their advantage at the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division summit cut after they were held to a 2-2 draw at Machno United.

Gari Evans and Tom Lewis’ side are now just eight points ahead of Llandudno Amateurs, with the current Division One champions having four games in hand on their promotion rivals.

The home side got off to a flying start and took the lead on ten minutes when Sam Thomas converted a chance, and their dominance resulted in a second midway through the half when Chris Butler finished well to double their advantage with 25 gone.

After the break saw the visitors completely turn around their fortunes and got themselves back into the game on the hour mark when prolific forward Geraint Jones found the net, with Harri Owen also hitting the target on 70 minutes to secure a share of the spoils.

The Amateurs came away from their trick fixture at Llanfairfechan Town with a dramatic 6-4 success, and there was further good news for the club as Llandudno Athletic drew 3-3 at home to Cerrigydrudion.

The visitors went into the break with a comfortable three-goal cushion thanks to efforts from Ellis Owen and a brace from Tyrion Griffiths, but Athletic responded well in the second period with goals from Danny Talbot, Ste Cheung and Jamie Moorhouse to salvage something from the game.

Rhuddlan Town’s impressive recent form continued with a 2-2 draw at high-flying Bro Cernyw, with Callum Roberts and top scorer Jordan Bellham on target for Wayne Hughes’ side. Llion Morris and Colin Roberts fount the net for the hosts.

Abergele’s home clash with Old Colwyn was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
