LLANDUDNO Cricket Club’s junior nets programme got back underway last week.

The first indoor session was held on Friday, February 8 at Ysgol y Creuddyn in Penrhyn Bay, and they will be running weekly for a period of ten weeks until the Easter.

The first hour will see younger cricketers take part in a softball session from 6-7pm, before the older and more experienced players descend on the site from 7-8 for some expert coaching involving a hardball.

The cost of the ten weekly sessions will be £20 in total and all male and female junior up to the age of 15 are welcome to attend.

Kit will be provided by the club, with the charge to cover cost of net hire from Conwy county council.

All of the coaches are qualified and DBS checked who put on sessions at the club on a voluntary basis with no payment received by any individual.

Any parent interested in sending their child to the sessions (minimum age 5) should contact the club on 01492 871966 after 6pm.

The club are hoping with a big year ahead in national cricket of the World Cup being held in England and Wales and the Ashes series later this year, which they hope will spark a lot of new interest from young players and their parents.
