RHOS United remain in contention for a top three Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One finish thanks to a 5-2 win at Betws-y-Coed.
Despite the eventual result it was the home side that drew first blood when Callum Jones converted a chance on 14 minutes, but United managed to peg them back a minute before the half hour mark when Chris King levelled matters.
This was followed by another for the visitors on 32 minutes when Tref Jones put them ahead for the first time, but Betws hit back through Tom Williams after some brief pressure with 41 gone.
The away side regained the initiative immediately following the restart with a superb Rich Beardmore strike on 42 minutes, and the same player was on hand to double their tally late on when he fired his second of the afternoon with 80 on the clock.
There was still time to rub further salt into the hosts’ wounds, with Si Owen rounding off the scoring five minutes from time.
Llysfaen also picked a morale-boosting success thanks to a hard-fought 2-1 home victory over St Asaph City Reserves.
Shaun Davies’ opener for the hosts was cancelled out on 73 minutes by Steve Falvey, but Jordan Russell’s neat finish with three remaining was enough to separate the two sides.
