LLANDUDNO suffered a blow to their JD Welsh Premier League survival hopes as they were downed 3-0 at Cardiff Met.

The long-time basement dwellers’ recent run of positive results came to and end in the capital after missing a number of chances throughout, and Iwan Williams’ men face a do-or-die home clash with second-from-bottom Llanelli Town on Saturday (2.30pm) as they look to peg back the ten-point deficit between themselves and Cefn Druids.

The home side started the game on the front foot, and they went ahead after 20 minutes when Adam Roscrow latched on to a Harry Owen through ball to slot past Shaun Pearson, with in-form Tudno striker George Harry missing a golden chance to level matters with 32 on the clock.

After the break saw the hosts double their advantage on 49 minutes when Roscrow went from scorer to provider when he expertly brought down a long ball and fed Owen for their second of the contest.

Credit to the visitors, they kept plugging away and enjoyed encouraging periods of possession throughout the second period, but they were finding it difficult to penetrate the Archers’ defence who remained organised and disciplined throughout.

Their misery was compounded late on when Met added a third to their tally on 85 minutes, and Roscrow was once again in the thick of the action when he finished well after Eliot Evans capitalised on some hesitant defending from the away side.

To make matters worse for Tudno, relegation rivals Cefn Druids and Carmarthen Town both secured a vital three points with victory against Aberystwyth Town and Llanelli Town respectively.
