PENRHYNDEUDRAETH secured a spot in the Lock Stock Cookson Cup final with a superb 2-1 home win over Nantlle Vale.

The hosts began a trick tie on the front foot and went ahead after 22 minutes when the prolific Huw Quaeck continued his exceptional recent run of form with another well-taken finish.

Things looked even more promising for the home side shortly after the break when an outstanding period of possession presented a chance to Meilir Williams, who finished with customary composure on 49 minutes to double their advantage.

Credit to the visitors, they continued to probe in search of a way back into the semi-final, and they reduced the deficit on the hour mark when Daniel Evans finished well after a period of pressure.

This was followed by some considerable pressure on the Pen goal late on, but the hosts remained resolute to book their place in the showcase later on in the season.

Also celebrating a final berth are Y Felinheli, who will contest for the Take Stock Van Hire Challenge Cup with a dramatic late 1-0 win over Pentraeth.

With the game heading towards an additional 30 minutes, Griff John popped up with a stoppage time strike that proved to be the difference between the two sides.
