LLANRUG United’s fading title hopes were dealt another blow as they fell to a heavy 6-2 home loss at the hands of Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One leaders Llandudno Albion.

The returning Dave Maddock gave Albion the lead after 26 minutes, and the prolific forward was on hand to double their advantage soon after with another well-taken finish.

This provoked a strong response from the home side, who got themselves back into the game on 33 minutes when Dylan Owen converted from the penalty spot, and United restored parity to the score in the final action of the first period through Jonathan Sadler.

It was one-way traffic after the break, with the visitors netted four times throughout the second half courtesy of Peter Evans (2), Danial Evans and Joel Lloyd to secure a valuable three points.

Llangefni Town remain on course for promotion after a comfortable 3-0 success at basement dwellers Llandudno Junction.

Goals from Craig Roberts and Liam Morris gave Chris Roberts’ side a comfortable cushion at the break, with Alan Mark Owen rounding off the scoring late on.

Ricky Williams’ Bodedern Athletic bounced back in fine style thanks to a 3-0 home triumph over Penrhyndeudraeth.

A brace from Aden Clarke did the majority of the damage, with Case Boylan also on target for the second placed side.

There was no such luck for Barmouth and Dyffryn United, who fell to a 2-1 defeat against Greenfield, with Llanberis falling to a 3-1 reverse at Prestatyn Sports.

Nantlle Vale kept up their fine season with a resounding 5-1 win over Mynydd Llandegai, with goals from Ashley Owen, Rhys Williams, Phil Warrington and Aron Davies Thomas (2) securing the rout.
