MELIDEN ended a run of disappointing results with a creditable 3-3 draw at Holyhead Town.

Peter Evans’ side fought back superbly in the second half to ensure they had something to show from a spirited display, and the result leaves them in 12th position in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two standings with five games remaining.

Things did not start well for the away side as they fell behind to a Mark Thomas strike with just eight minutes gone, but they responded well to the setback and got back on level terms courtesy of a neat finish from Chris Marsden with 25 gone.

After the break saw the Harbourmen get their noses in front yet again when cultured midfielder Joe Donovan’s superb effort found the corner, but once again the setback provoked an improved spell of possession that saw Marsden despatched his second of the afternoon with 63 on the clock.

The hosts regained the initiative for a third time in the contest on 76 minutes when Thomas secured his brace in fine fashion, but it was met by another swift response from the visitors thanks to a Jordan Newell goal that claimed a share of the spoils from a thoroughly entertaining affair

Evans’ men will look to build on this positive showing when they are next in action at Y Felinheli on Saturday, who come into the game on the back of a 4-1 triumph at Mochdre Sports.
