ST ASAPH City manager Daniel Brewerton has praised his squad after he picked up an individual award.

The talented young boss was named the Queensferry Sports Welsh Alliance Division One Manager of the Month for February after guiding the Saints to a huge turnaround in fortunes that saw them surge up the third-tier standings.

It proved to be an extremely successful few weeks for the city side, who won all four games throughout the month thanks to a series of standout displays.

They also managed to find the net on 15 occasions, conceding just three in that time, which left Brewerton will nothing but good things to say about his young and improving squad.

He said: “Of course, I’m pleased to receive the manager of the month award for February but for me it’s a big reflection of the efforts of the players.

“They’ve been excellent throughout the month and have been working extremely hard on and off the field.

“To win all four games was a good achievement but what pleased me even more was that we scored 15 and only conceded three goals, it’s put us in a more realistic league position that I believe we should be in with the quality of players within the squad.”

The Saints currently sit in eighth spot in the standings, and they return to action on Saturday when they host Lock Stock Cookson Cup finalists Penrhyndeudraeth after their weekend clash at Llanrwst United fell victim to the weather.
