ABERGELE booked their place in the Normac Precision Engineering JT (Charlie) Jones Presidents Cup final with a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Machno United.
A thrilling semi-final encounter ended 4-4 after extra-time, with Gele holding their nerve to emerge victorious 5-4 on penalties.
They can now look forward to the showcase against Llandudno Athletic, which will be played at the home of Huws Gray Alliance side Denbigh Town.
Both sides traded goals in the first period to go in all square, with Dominic Holland netting for Gele and Dion Lloyd hitting the net for the visitors.
After the interval saw Lewis Moroney and Lloyd convert opportunities at either end of the field to send the game into an additional 30 minutes, with an Owen Davies brace looking to have secured victory for United and cause heartbreak for Gele.
Credit to the home side, they ensured the game went to a shootout thanks to efforts from Greg Hilditch and Moroney, and a series of clinical spot-kicks enabled them to advance for a shot at some silverware to end what has been a very encouraging second half of the campaign.
