FORMER Prestatyn Town manager Leon Field has made a sensational return to the club.

Club chairman Neal Colakoglu confirmed the news at a special meeting with supporters on Thursday, March 21, with Field taking on the position of joint-general manager alongside Seasiders’ stalwart Martin Jones.

The ex-Kinmel Bay boss replaced Neil Gibson during the summer alongside Ryan Turner after guiding the Bay to the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division title, overseeing a huge squad overhaul that saw all of their Huws Gray Alliance side depart for pastures new.

Field was instrumental in convincing defender and Town legend Dave Hayes to come out of retirement ahead of the new campaign, and although results were difficult in the early stages there were genuine signs of encouragement before he decided to depart in late September.

After a brief spell out of the game, Field has now decided to make a return after being presented with an opportunity by Colakoglu and manager Neil Gibson, where he will work with Jones behind the scenes as the club looks to mount a promotion push next time around.

Field, said: “I was asked by Neal if I would consider coming back onboard to assist PTFC in helping the club move forward with Martin in a general manager role.

“The time is right to return now the club is in great hands under Neal, I've known him for a few years now and I believed in what he wants to achieve at the club.

“Martin and I know the amount of work we have to do but we're both looking forward to delivering on our objectives and helping assist Neal, the fans and Neil with his players to make sure the club grows over the next two years.

“Re-joining the club is an exciting opportunity and one I'm looking forward to I've had a great response from a lot of people already welcoming back so I can't wait to finally get stuck into the task at hand.”
