A PREPARATORY School netball side continued their exceptional recent run of results with an impressive tournament victory.

Rydal Penrhos’ U10 squad travelled to Packwood Haugh School for their annual tournament, which saw them compete against seven other sides from across Cheshire and the North West.

They began the competition in stylish fashion with a 6-2 victory over Old Hall School thanks to standout displays from Ellie Knight, Charlotte Payne and Lucy Ranales-Griffiths.

This was followed with another win by another 6-2 score-line against Shrewsbury High School, which saw Lily Copeland play a leading role in their success, before the team suffer their first loss of the tournament with a 5-3 reverse at the hands of Packwood Haugh.

The squad bounced back in impressive fashion at the earlies opportunity thanks to a 5-0 triumph over Adcote School, and this was backed-up by a superb 5-3 win over Prestfeld School.

They concluded their fixtures with a resounding 6-1 victory over Moreton Hall, which ensured they were crowned overall winners of the tournament after winning five of their six games.

Alison Hind, head of Rydal Penrhos Prep School, said: “Our U10 squad have been in such good form so far this season, and each of them deserves all the credit in the world for the way they have applied themselves in a competitive environment.

“Their talent is nurtured superbly by Head of Girls’ Games Mrs Pyves and other members of our coaching team here at Rydal Penrhos, and the future is incredibly bright for them if they continue to develop and work hard both individually and as a unit.”
