GLAN Conwy moved back to the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two summit thanks to a 1-0 home win over Pentraeth.

Howard Vaughan’s men were made to work hard for another crucial three points in their pursuit of the title, and they now sit two points above Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs with a game in hand.

The home side found it difficult to break down the resolute Traeth rearguard throughout the contest, but the crucial moment did arrive on 29 minutes when Conor Davies produced deft finish to give his side a slender advantage.

Although they failed to add to their tally in the second half, Glan held on to their lead with minimal fuss to give their championship hopes another massive boost.

One side Vaughan will have a close eye on is Pwllheli, who will go ahead of Gan if they win their seven games in hand and they kept pace with their promotion rivals with a comfortable 4-0 triumph at Mochdre Sports.

Things got off to the worst possible start for the home side as goals from Mark Jones and Marcus Bent put them two-down within the opening 15 minutes, and further efforts after the break from Jones and Steven Toplis rounded off a miserable afternoon at the office.
