LLANDUDNO Rugby Club are the new WRU National League Division One North champions after an emphatic 61-12 victory at Bethesda.

The all-conquering Goats rounded off an incredible league campaign with the title after another dazzling attacking display, and there could still be more in the offing as they prepare for their North Wales Cup final against rivals Nant Conwy on May 11.

The visitors went ahead after 12 minutes when Arthur Lennon dotted over for a try which he also converted, and this was followed soon after by another score that came courtesy of Rhys Henderson on the quarter hour mark.

Lennon once again added the extras, and another sweeping move from the Goats saw Cameron Davies latch on to a long kick to go over on 25 minutes.

Lloyd Evans, Davies and Aled Meredith all went over for the away side during a rampant first period, with the Quarrymen responding with a try of their own towards the end of the half, which was converted.

They followed this up with their second score of the afternoon which turned out to be their final impact on the contest, but further tries from Morgan Owen and Evans in the closing stages confirmed a dominant win for the Goats, with Lennon despatching both conversion attempts to round off the scoring.

Llandudno’s final league game will be at Pwllheli on April 27 before their highly anticipated cup final with Nant at the home of Denbigh Rugby Club.
