PRESTATYN Town have received a huge boost after two influential squad members committed their futures to the club.

The Seasiders’ confirmed that talented forward Ben Maher and standout young defender Dan Roberts have both penned extensions at the Huws Gray Alliance side until the end of the 2019/20 season as manager Neil Gibson continues to tie down his best players ahead of their expected promotion tilt next term.

Maher re-joined the club earlier this season after a frustrating spell at Caernarfon Town, and he made a huge contribution to their resurgence during the second half of the campaign.

Gibson, said: “I'm delighted that Ben has decided to stay for at least another season. This signing is another one that shows the club is moving in the right direction.

“He's been asked to play in a number of roles to help the team this season, but he's always played to the highest level. Ben will be instrumental in what we want to achieve next season and beyond. I'm looking forward to continue working with him, as his enthusiasm to learn and improve is infectious.”

Roberts is another that has been an exceptional presence within the Town squad this season, with the Welsh youth international turning in a series of outstanding display to see him further enhance his reputation as one of the brightest young talents outside of the JD Welsh Premier League.

“From the moment I came back I’ve been impressed with Dan, and I’ve really enjoyed working him and watch his progression over the season,” added Gibson.

“The maturity of his performances sometimes make it easy to forget that he’s still only 18, but I’m very much looking forward to continue working with Dan to help him fulfil his massive potential.

“I’m confident that if Dan continues with his willingness to learn and take on information, and trains as hard as he has this season - he will become a Welsh Premier League player in the not-too-distant future.”
