COLWYN Bay FC have received a significant boost with the news that skipper Tom McCready has signed an extension at the club.

The Seagulls’ confirmed the news on Tuesday, April 30, with the popular figure deciding to test his skills in Tier 2 North after a glittering young career to date.

McCready has been a revelation at the Four Crosses Construction Arena since arriving on a permanent deal following an outstanding loan spell from AFC Fylde, and he has emerged as s standout performer in the middle of the park.

He has also been a massive influence within the dressing room and around the club in general, and he has committed to the club for the entirety of the 2019/20 campaign.

Director of football Neil Coverley, said: “We are really pleased that Tom has agreed terms with the club for next season.

“He has been an excellent servant for the Bay since he joined us back in 2017 and some of the performances he has delivered in his time here have been sensational, it’s been a real pleasure to witness that from the dugout.

“His importance both on the pitch and in the dressing room can’t be understated at all and for him to commit his future to the Bay is a real positive for all at the club. It’s terrific news indeed.”

McCready has previously represented Exeter City, making 11 appearances for the club before moving the National League.

A former Everton youth graduate found opportunities hampered by injury and last turned out for Dave Challinor’s men against Tranmere Rovers.

McCready has also been with Altrincham, Chester and Morecambe as well as having a spell in America on a scholarship with Limestone College, and has found a new lease of life with the Seagulls, becoming a huge fan favourite in the process.

It promises to be a very busy summer of transfer activity for manager Craig Hogg and his team, and securing the services of his skipper is a huge morale boost for everyone associated with the club.
