A SENSATIONAL bowling display saw Conwy secure an emphatic ten-wicket home triumph over Bersham.

The North Wales Cricket League Division One made a real statement of intent with an impressive performance, restricting the away side to just 52 all out from 25 overs in the middle.

Graham Meredith’s spell with the new ball was an extremely beneficial one, ending with three wickets for the loss of 15 from just a seven-over spell.

He was aided at the other end considerably by Gareth Thomas, who also claimed three victims at the expense of six runs, with Patrick Jelley helping himself to a pair of scalps at the expense of 13.

The home side reached their required target with minimal fuss and without the loss of a single wicket, with the opening partnership of skipper Rajjenu Britto and Shaun Davies ending the day unbeaten on 25 and 22 respectively.

This ensured their total was met after 14 overs at the crease, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season after a poor run of form last summer.

Conwy will look to secure their third consecutive victory this Saturday when they welcome Abergele for an early-season derby clash.
