COLWYN Bay have bolstered their attacking options with two notable signings.

The Seagulls confirmed that Joe Chaplin and Damian Ketley will spearhead their return to the Welsh domestic system after spells at Airbus Broughton and Holywell Town respectively.

Chaplin joined the Wingmakers last season and played a role in their promotion to the JD Welsh Premier League, and he also enjoyed prolific spells at Conwy Borough and Porthmadog in the second tier.

Manager Craig Hogg, said: “Joe is a local lad who has much experience of Tier 2 North and has a proven goal scoring record at that level.

“We hope, with much hard work, that he can continue what he’s good at now in a Bay shirt next season. I’m really pleased we’ve agreed terms with him."

Ketley is no stranger to the Four Crosses Construction Arena having been a prominent member of Chris Thompson’s reserve side during the 2014/15 season, scoring the winning goal in Bay’s 2-1 in Lock Stock League Cup final triumph at Denbigh Town.

The powerful forward boasts top-flight experience with Prestatyn Town and has also stood out for the likes of Holyhead Hotspur and Holywell, who were relegated from the second tier following a dramatic final; day of action.

"Damien was a product of our reserve set up in a previous spell with the club and has gone on to have a very positive career at Tier 2 North level,” added Hogg.

"He is a player who has been of much interest to the management team for a while now and is someone who I feel will add great deal of value to our attacking line up, with his tremendously honest work ethic and solid goal scoring record at this level.

"I'm very pleased to now have the chance to work with him at the Bay and we welcome him."
