HOLYHEAD Hotspur manager Darren Garmey could not hide his delight after he sealed two notable signings.

The Holy Islanders’ announced that Joe Donovan and Dewi Thomas have signed on for the upcoming campaign, which represents a significant boost to a midfield that has lost Tomos Clarke to Conwy Borough.

Donovan arrives from nearby Holyhead Town and turned in a series of fine displays for the Harbourmen during their rise up the Welsh pyramid, with the playmaker also securing a spot in the provisional Ynys Mon men’s squad for this summer’s Inter Games tournament on Anglesey.

Thomas is another eye-catching addition for the recently related side, with the popular figure enjoyed a superb initial spell at the club before departing for pastures new.

Garmey, said: “Delighted these lads have committed so early. Dewi was very much in demand and he will be a massive player for us and add more of an attacking threat to our midfield.

“Joe is another local player I have been watching closely and was unlucky not to make the Ynys Mon squad after impressing playing centre half in the trial games.

“He will fit in well with our squad no doubt will be a favourite with the fans.”
