COLWYN Bay have made further additions to their squad ahead of the FAW Tier 2 North League campaign.

The Seagulls confirmed that midfielder Alun Roberts has formally signed for the club after impressing during their recent training sessions, with the Mochdre-based player turning out for second tier title rivals Prestatyn Town last term.

He has also turned out for Llandudno, Conwy Borough and Llandudno during a standout career to date, with Roberts playing with manager Craig Hogg during the twilight of his career.

Hogg, said: “Alun is someone who I've played with in the past at a previous club and I am delighted we are working together again following his signing from Prestatyn.

"He has done very well since we reported back for pre-season.

"Alun is not only a player who offers us good quality in a number of positions, but he is also in unbelievable physical condition, thanks to his dedication to fitness and his work in the mixed martial arts scene.”

The Seagulls’ boss has also promoted goalkeeper Joe Evans and defender Ashley Seddon to the senior set-up from the reserves following their exceptional efforts during the initial stages of their pre-season training regime.

"It is really good news for everyone at our club,” added Hogg.

"Both players have performed well since we reported back and have now worked themselves into the first team set-up.

"How well they have done is down to their own hard work and I'm pleased for both players.

"A lot of credit must go to our reserve and academy staff for the work they are doing with players outside the first team.

"It is good to see that players are now starting to filter through the ranks and that a real pathway exists for progression into the first team when players are ready."
