LLANDUDNO Cricket Club held a pair of fundraising events to continue their excellent community work throughout the season.

The Lions’ junior section took part in a sponsored walk in aid of Diabetes Cymru on Sunday, July 7, which saw the group of players, together with family members and coaching staff, walk from the town’s pier to Craig y Don paddling pool following their morning training session at The Oval.

Club coach Colin Price organised the event in aid of the charity, with the junior teams supported by the Llandudno 12th brownies during the event.

They collected donations in buckets throughout the walk and received a commemorative t-shirt acknowledging their efforts once they had completed their challenge.

The club also held a special quiz at their clubhouse on Friday, July 12, with all proceeds going towards Alzheimer’s Society Cymru.

Junior coaches Joel Lambe and Mr Price were the key organisers of the event, in partnership with ASC fundraising co-ordinator Helen Marchant.

A number of other event have been scheduled by the club for the remainder of the summer for worthy causes in the region and beyond, with the North Wales Cricket League Cricket League Premier Division side also planning September charity occasions for St David’s Hospice and Diabetes Cymru.

Details of these events will be announced in due course.
