Overseas star Saliya Saman Jeewantha led the way with a boundary-studded 82 not out as Colwyn Bay picked up only their second victory in the Premier Division of the Liverpool Competition,

Jeewantha's knock, which included eight fours and four sixes, took the Bay to 136 for three as they chased down bottom club Lytham's 133.

Earlier, Bay's four-man attack all picked up wickets as Lytham were kept in check with Paul Jenkins proving the most economical of the quartet with three for 20 from 14 overs.

Adam Campion took three for 42, Jeewantha two for 42 and Ryan Holtby two for 24 as Lytham found runs hard to come by.

Jeewantha played the dominant innings of the day and Zack Gidlow (18) helped him put on 49 for the first wicket. George Johansen was 15 not out when the winning runs were scored.

Colwyn Bay Seconds struggled for runs at Orrell Red Triangle and were dismissed for 85 with John Moorhouse top scoring with 22 not out.

Moorhouse (one for 27) and James Jones (two for eight) had the home side in some trouble at 18 for three but an unbeaten 51 from opener Ian Lyon took them to victory without further loss.
