COLWYN Bay FC have made two more additions to their boardroom as part of ongoing improvements behind the scenes.

The Seagulls confirmed that Colin Roberts and Elfyn Jones have been appointed board members with immediate effect, in no small part to the incredible volunteer work they have already participated in at the club in recent years.

Mr Roberts has a background in teaching and is hugely encouraged by what he has seen across the set-up since the appointment of manager Craig Hogg and director of football Neil Coverley.

He said: “I have been coming and going with The Seagulls for many years and have witnessed good and not so good times, but I feel that we can move on together very positively.

“I feel that the board have the club in their hearts and at the forefront of their thinking. All our staff are incredible with a real feel for where we are going. The ground, pitch, kits, bar, kitchen and turnstiles are looked after by a great group of people who deserve our respect and support.

“I am so looking forward to seeing how Craig and his team move the project forward as the early signs are giving us so much optimism.

“I truly hope that our local support and beyond will back the club by coming to the matches, enjoying the hospitality.

“I just want to help our club in any way I can. We need to be patient, understanding and quietly confident in where our family club is going.”

Mr Jones is widely regarded as one of the best groundsmen in the country and has been shortlisted for a number of prestigious awards in recent years, with Coverley adding that the appointment is “a reward” for his stellar efforts with the playing surface and throughout the club overall.
