LLANRWST made light work of their latest North Wales Cricket League Division One outing to secure a nine-wicket win at basement dwellers Bersham.
The Rwsters’ gave themselves the perfect platform for victory by bowling the home side out for just 81, with Alwyn Williams turning in another spell of genuine quality to further enhance his outstanding figures for the season.
The bowler was in ruthless form throughout, claiming six wickets for the loss of just 12 runs from a 12-over spell, which included four maidens.
He has now taken 38 per cent of the Llanrwst wickets so far this term with 30, which has come from an average of just 7.67.
Scott Thomas and Huw Williams also aided the away side’s cause with a pair of wickets apiece, with Phillip Young’s 24 knock top scoring with the bat.
Although they lost opener Jo Maguire for a duck during the opening exchanges, a standout performance at the crease by Thomas ensured the visitors reached their required target with ease after ten overs of play.
The talented all-rounder was in no mood to hang around and smashed his way to an unbeaten 66, and Jack Hughes (8*) was also there at the end to confirm the dominant triumph.
Llanrwst now occupy seventh position in the standings ahead of their next league game at home to Bethesda on Saturday.
