RHUDDLAN Town remain top of the Vale of Clwyd and Coney League Premier Division standings after an emphatic 8-3 home rout against Y Glannau.

The promotion hopefuls were at their brilliant best once again to extend their impressive start to the season, with striker Jordan Bellham marking his return to the side with an exceptional display in front of goal.

Manager Wayne Hughes, said: “Jordan’s first game of the season was a massive boost for the club.

“It was an unbelievable performance from the lads first half that gave us a comfortable lead. We were dealing with a few injuries and we changed things around which saw us lose our momentum a bit, but credit to Y Glannau who never gave up until the final whistle.”

Bellham was the undoubted star of the show, picking up where he left off last term to fire in four goals throughout the rout.

Others to hit the net for the home side were Nathan Smith, Ian Davenport, Connor Bucknall and Mathew Beach, with a Chris Kelly brace the highlight of the visitors’ effort on the afternoon.

Llansannan also remain right in the early title picture thanks to a resounding 5-1 home triumph over Llandudno Athletic.

Tom Lewis’ men got their noses in front early on when Liam Jones converted a chance on six minutes, before Elis Vaughan doubled their tally after the break with 56 on the clock.

The away side kept things interesting soon after when Lee Stokes halved the deficit on 65 minutes, but the hosts remained undeterred and put the exclamation point on proceedings in the final quarter of the game with efforts from Jac Glover, Leon Gierke and Ifan Jones.

Goals from Gary Fazakerly, Dan Price and Ste Kirk were enough for newly promoted Llanelwy Athletic to secure a comfortable 3-0 home success over Rhos United, with an early Tirion Griffiths strike enough for Cerrugydrudion to seal a 1-0 triumph over Bro Cernyw.

Meliden fought back from a goal down thanks to an Adam White effort in their 1-1 draw with Abergele after Chris Davies put the visitors ahead.
