LLANDUDNO Amateurs Reserves picked up a notable scalp with a 3-2 NWCFA Junior Cup triumph at Y Glannau.

The Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One side bested their higher tier opponents after a determined display with plenty of quality in the right areas, and they went ahead on 30 minutes when Stan Farrell converted from the penalty spot after Lee Fallas was felled in the box.

Fallas went from provider to scorer soon after to double the away side’s advantage, but the hosts got back into the tie just before the break when Tom Jones’ effort was diverted into his own net by Matty Roberts.

After the interval saw the home side throw caution to the wind in the hope of salvaging the first round clash, but they were undone on the break late on when Morgan Davies notched a third on 85 minutes.

Ryan Jones hit a penalty of his own with a minute remaining for the home side, but this failed to have an impact on the overall outcome.

Also through to the next round are Llandudno Athletic, who emerged from their trip to Pentraeth Reserves with a comfortable 3-0 success, but there was no such luck for Penrhyn Bay Dragons and Machno United, who were beaten by Y Fali and Trearddur Bay Bulls respectively.
