RGC picked up their second consecutive Indigo Group Premiership win thanks to a thrilling 43-34 bonus point triumph at Llanelli.

The Gogs’ demonstrated their attacking prowess to come away from their long trip to South Wales with another positive result, and Matt Silva’s men will look to make it three straight next Saturday when they welcome Cardiff to Stadiwm Zip World (5.15pm).

Despite the eventual result it was the visitors who drew first blood when Elis Hopkins touched down, but a mesmerising ten-minute spell following the score saw the away side secure three tries thanks to some dazzling attacking rugby.

Wales 7s star Afon Bagshaw was the first to cross the white wash after good work from Tom Hughes, before Rhodri King round off an incredible team move that involved Harri Evans and Rhys Williams. Billy McBryde hit both conversion attempts.

Ioan Hughes’ penalty reduced the arrears for the home side soon after, but former Wales U18 international scrum-half Efan Jones increased the Gogs’ advantage with a fine individual score that was converted by McBryde.

A penalty try brought the hosts back into contention during the closing stages of the half, but McBryde answered with his first penalty of the game to make it a nine-point contest.

The home side went over again through Nathan Hart which brought a bonus point response from RGC that came courtesy of Will Sanderson. McBryde fired over the extras.

Ryan Davies was next to go over for Llanelli just after the break, but quick-fire scores from Williams and Bagshaw all-but sealed victory for the Gogs’ midway through the half.

McBryde notched both conversion attempts, but a nervy ending to proceedings was ensured when Jacob Lewis made the most of a changed down kick to go over for a converted score.

Silva’s side managed to hold firm in the face of some stern pressure in the dying moments to secure another notable scalp.
