THE North Football Association progressed to the REM Jones Cup second round with an emphatic 11-1 home victory over Penrhyn Bay Dragons.

The Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One leaders made light work of their latest encounter with another clinical display in front of goal, with Jordan Taylor getting them off to the best possible start on three minutes to put them ahead.

This was met by a swift response from the visitors, with Ryan McIlvogue taking advantage of some space on nine minutes to level matters in fine style.

That was as good as it got for the Dragons, who were overwhelmed by consistent pressure for the remainder of the tie, which saw Matthew Robinson put the hosts back ahead on ten minutes and Taylor double their advantage with 24 on the clock.

Taylor was a constant threat during the first half and he struck twice more on 32 and 40 minutes to take his tally for the afternoon to four, and Ste Falvey also found the net with 42 gone to give the NFA a commanding cushion at the break.

After the interval saw the home side pull further clear courtesy of a Nathan Griffiths attempt on 59 minutes, with Liam Stocks and Adam Ames also getting in on the act midway through the half.

The outstanding Taylor rounded off an exceptional individual display with his fifth following another prolonged period of possession, and Sam Warhurst’s impressive strike with 78 on the clock completed the rout.
