ST ASAPH City manager Daniel Brewerton is confident his side can “turn the corner soon” after they fell to a dramatic 1-0 loss at Mynydd Llandegai.

The Saints were undone by a controversial stoppage time strike that ensured they had nothing to show from their latest Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One fixture, leaving them in 13th spot ahead of their next league outing at home to Llanrug United on November 22.

Brewerton, said: “We’re all really disappointed to come away from the game empty handed.

“I felt we controlled large periods of the game but I think we just lacked that end product when we needed it, the game looked like it would finish goalless but they scored what looked like an obvious offside goal in injury time.

“We know we have to do better in games like this and we have to start making these opportunities count.

“I’m sure we’ll turn a corner soon and I feel once we build a bit of momentum, we’ll start to show exactly what we are capable of.”

Despite controlling possession for prolonged periods of the clash, the visitors were unable to make the most of promising opportunities on a frustrating afternoon in front of goal.

With the game heading towards a stalemate, a left-wing cross was headed into the net by Liam Willighan despite appeals for offside from players and the Saints’ management team, giving Mynydd a crucial three point with virtually the final goal-mouth action of the contest.
