A TALENTED skier added to his outstanding list of recent accolades with a medal-winning performance at a regional competition.

Cameron Pye, a Year 6 pupil at Rydal Penrhos School in Colwyn Bay, was part of the Ski Rossendale Race Club that competed in the latest leg of the Pendle Winter League, testing their skills against some of the best young talent from across the region.

The squad produced another fantastic series of runs in the U13 category that had them well in contention for a podium finish early on, and they extended this impressive form during the remainder of the competition.

This eventually secured a silver medal for the team to further enhance their confidence and development, with national U12 champion Cameron playing a leading role for the squad.

The recognition rounded-off a busy weekend for the pupil and came just a day after he performed with Stagecoach Denbigh at the Rhyl Pavilion as part of the Ultimate Classic Rock Show.

Lucy Davies, head of Rydal Penrhos Prep School, said: “What Cameron continues to achieve from a skiing perspective is equally as impressive as the work he is producing within a classroom environment, and this is another tremendous for him and the Ski Rossendale Race Club.

“He has bundles of energy and really throws himself into every task and challenge that comes his way, something which will ensure even more achievements going forward.”
