Y GLANNAU picked up their second win of the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division season thanks to a 5-3 derby day triumph at Llanelwy Athletic.

The one-time strugglers have found a new lease of life in recent weeks to completely turn around their fortunes for the remainder of the campaign, and their latest outing was full of grit and quality to emerge victorious against the newly promoted outfit.

The visitors turned on the style during an exceptional attacking display, with Joey Fontana extending his recent fine form in front of goal with a well-taken effort.

Their clinical performance brought four more separate goal-scorers in the form of Chris Rogers, Adam Hall, John Davies and Connor Heath, with the away side managing to hold firm in the face of stern pressure following a late rally from Athletic.

Prolific forward Steve Kirk made the most of the space afforded to him to add to his outstanding tally accumulated this term, and the duo of Neil Fazackerley and Luke Stanley also hit the target for the home side at Coronation Gardens as they looked to salvage something from the game.

This proved to be for nothing thanks in no small part to some standout resistance from the away side, which enabled them to seal back-to-back triumphs for the first time this term.
