RHYL FC have bolstered their options with the signing of promising youngster Ilan ap Gareth.

The talented midfielder arrives at the Educate Group Stadium from JD Cymru North rivals Porthmadog and is available for selection this Saturday when the Lilywhites’ travel to Newtown in the JD Welsh Cup fourth round.

Eddie Maurice-Jones’ latest signing boasts a wealth of experience despite his tender age, with ap Gareth coming through the ranks of Wrexham, Chester and The New Saints before making a move to Cefn Druids.

The playmaker joined Port on loan from the Ancients’ before making the move permanent last summer and is now looking to establish himself within the Lilies’ set-up for the remainder of the campaign.

Maurice-Jones, said: “I'm delighted that he has joined us this week from Porthmadog.

“Ilan has been a player I have admired for some time having watched him play a lot at Cefn Druids. “Ilan brings lots of experience having played in the Welsh Premier League at such a young age.

“He is a very intelligent and composed player with great technique. Ilan has all the qualities we look for in a player both on and off the pitch.

“I believe he has great potential and I am positive he'll be a big success.

“Ilan will be a great addition to the group and I look forward to working with him."

This weekend’s cup clash represents a significant challenge for the Lilies’, with Chris Hughes’ men in tremendous form of late and recently booked their top six Championship Conference berth on the final day of Phase One in the JD Cymru Premier.
