RHYL All Stars notched only their second win of the season thanks to a fine 4-2 home triumph over Machno United.

The Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One basement dwellers produced arguably their best performance of the campaign to date for a much-needed three points, and they went ahead on 32 minutes thanks to a strike from Ricki Roberts.

After the break saw the hosts increase their tally a minute following the restart courtesy of Simon Roberts, and things got even better for the All Stars on 68 minutes when Adam Cassidy broke clear and finished well.

The visitors refused to go down without a fight and got themselves back into the game when Dion Lloyd found the net on 70 minutes, and the same player was on hand yet again with 80 gone to reduce the deficit further and make things nervy heading into the closing stages.

Credit to the home side, who weathered the storm and finally wrapped up proceedings when Cassidy despatched his second of the afternoon with four remaining.

Denbigh Development’s outstanding recent improvement continued with a thumping 6-1 success at Henllan.

Joel Rowlands played a significant role for Craig Morris’ men throughout, helping himself to a hat-trick as a result of his clinical performance, with Ash Andrews, Morgan Jones and Arron Williams also scoring for the away side.

Betws-y-Coed moved into fifth spot thanks to a 2-0 home win over Llanfairfechan Town Reserves.

The hosts finished the first half strongly which proved to be the difference between the two sides, as Luke Snape converted a quick-fire brace on 40 and 44 minutes to steer his side to their sixth victory in 11 league contests.
