RHYL FC made another addition to their squad with the signing of Paul Williams from Gresford Athletic.

The energetic midfielder penned a deal at the Educate Group Stadium on deadline day, rounding off a busy month of transfer activity at the Lilywhites as they look to improve their JD Cymru North position during the remainder of the campaign.

Williams boasts a wealth of experience across the region, with this spell at Holywell Town spanning almost a decade and saw him emerge as one of the club’s greatest ever players in the modern era.

The player played a significant part in their promotion to the second tier and was also part of Johnny Haseldin’s squad that enjoyed a sensational JD Welsh Cup run in 2015, eventually bowing out at the semi-final stage.

He is a former Wales youth international at U15 and U17 level, and began at the Wrexham AFC Academy before moving on to Warrington Town and Flint Town United.

In addition to his short stint at Steve Halliwell’s side, Williams has also turned out for Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One outfit Greenfield.

Rhyl manager Eddie Maurice-Jones, said: "Paul is a player I have known since my early footballing days and I have always been an admirer.

“Paul is an experienced player who will add quality to the group. I look forward to working with Paul and I am positive he'll be a big success."
