COLWYN Bay FC has been chosen as the Wales C training base ahead of their upcoming fixture against England.

The JD Cymru North side confirmed that their Four Cross Arena will host Mark Jones’ squad for a series of sessions prior to the contest, which will take place at the home of Caernarfon Town on Tuesday, March 24.

Their first session will take place on Sunday, March 22 from 2.30-4.30pm, and the squad will also take part in short training at the facility on the morning of the fixture.

Director of football Neil Coverley, said: “This recognises the hard work that our groundsman Elfyn Jones puts in to prepare the pitch to such a high standard.

“This goes alongside area cup finals, junior tournaments and charity events. Well done to Elfyn, Dilwyn Roberts and others behind the scenes. It is only positives for the club and community.”

The second International challenge match between the two sides last year ended 2-2 at the home of SkyBet League Two side Salford City, which saw Kayne McLaggon of Barry Town United and Adam Roscrow find the net.

Current Colwyn Bay forward Toby Jones was part of the Welsh semi-professional squad upon its reformation in 2018 after a hugely impressive spell at Llandudno, with a number of other Seagulls’ standouts earning caps at this level under Bryn Jones.

Tickets for the game are priced at £10 adults, £5 senior and £2 U16s. Anyone wishing to purchase can do so from Dilwyn Roberts at Colwyn Bay FC via email at dilrobs@hotmail.com.
