PRESTATYN Sports are still seeking their first league victory of the season following a 4-1 reverse at Nantlle Vale.
The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One basement dwellers had nothing to show from their latest long trip across the coast, leaving them with two points from their 19 game so far this term.
Sion Williams and John Hargreaves’ side have a good chance to pick up their first win this Saturday when they host a very inconsistent Llanrug United side at their Gronant base.
The visitors were in the game for the majority of the first half before Rhys Williams finished well to open the scoring on the half hour mark, and they doubled their tally at a crucial stage thanks to a Gethin Thomas strike three minutes before the interval.
After the break saw things go from bad to worse for the away side during the opening exchanges, with a fine passage of play resulting in Williams despatching his second of the afternoon on 48 minutes.
Full credit to Sports’ for more than matching their opponents for the remainder of the first period, and they were presented with a golden chance to get themselves back into the game on 83 minutes after being awarded a penalty.
Mike Jones held his nerve from the spot to reduce the arrears, but any hopes the visitors had of mounting a sensational comeback were dashed on 87 minutes when Williams rounded off a clinical individual display with his hat-trick to complete the scoring and condemn Sports to tenth defeat in 11 league contests.
