A CULT social media personality will be the special guest at Conwy Borough next month.

The “Bootlegger” will visit the JD Cymru North side’s Y Morfa base on Saturday, April 11 for their clash against Colwyn Bay.

Karl Phillips, aka ‘Bootlegger’ or ‘The Captain’, has become a social media sensation with his matchday vlogs following Wrexham AFC home and away gaining him a cult following.

His twitter account has more than 260,000 followers and he is currently in the process of distributing his very own pilsner after launching a partnership with Wrexham Lager.

The Tangerines’ have also designated the fixture in aid of State of Mind Sport, which was founded in 2011 with the aim of improving the mental health, wellbeing and working life of rugby league players and communities.

Borough have commissioned a special one-off kit to mark the occasion, which has been designed by Ian Senior at SKkits and will feature State of Mind Sport’s logo on the front.

They were granted special dispensation to wear the different shirt by the Football Association of Wales for the contest.

Any supporter wishing to purchase the shirt can do so by contacting the club via email at conwyborough@outlook.com, which are priced at £35 for adults and £28 for children.

Borough were once again left frustrated on Saturday as their home fixture against Llanfair United fell victim to the weather despite a heroic effort to drain the playing surface by ground staff and volunteers.

Chris Morrell’s men will be hoping for better fortune this weekend when they welcome Guilsfield on Saturday, who have a top-three finish firmly in their sights after an outstanding season.
