KINMEL Bay picked up another positive result in their pursuit of a top six finish thanks to a 2-2 draw at Pwllheli.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two outfit produced another very encouraging display on their travels, leaving them seventh in the standings and three points behind Gwalchmai with a game in hand.

Another long trip awaits the Bay on Saturday, with Barmouth and Dyffryn United their destination.

The visitors made a good start to the contest and took a half-time lead into the break when prolific forward Matty Griffiths continued his exceptional form during the campaign with another neat finish on 39 minutes.

After the interval saw the away side increased their lead on 57 minutes, and Matthew Marsh-Evans was on target after a period of pressure.

Credit to the hosts, who bounced back well throughout the remainder of the game, and they managed to pull a goal back on 62 minutes when Meical Williams pounced to reduce the arrears.

This shifted the balance of the game and Pwll’ took full advantage with eight remaining as Steffan Toplis fired in a leveller to ensure both sides had something to show for their efforts.

Bay’s reserve side also shared the spoils thanks to a 2-2 home draw against St Asaph City.

A frantic finish to the game saw Harry Jones and Will Hughes both net within the final few minutes for the hosts, but Oliver Laurie’s stoppage time strike rescued a point for the Saints.
