LLANDUDNO have officially confirmed Sean Eardley as their new first team manager.

The JD Cymru North side made the bombshell move official on Monday evening, with the popular figure opting to step away from his role at Caernarfon Town to take over at his hometown club.

After Eardley released an emotional statement outlining the difficulty regarding the decision, Tudno shortly followed with a stamen of their own regarding the appointment.

A club spokesman, said: “Llandudno Football Club have the pleasure of confirming, and welcoming Sean Eardley back to the club, having secured his services until at least the end of the 2021/22 season.

“Sean has a rich history with our club, having played for the side for many years, before joining the coaching staff following his unfortunate retirement from playing the game.

“Sean has also assisted with the clubs community programme, academy, and U19's over the years, and has extensive knowledge of our club throughout. Sean also enjoyed success on the senior management team that took us to Sweden in the Europa League, before embarking on a successful tenure with Caernarfon Town as Senior Manager, following a brief spell as Assistant, whom we would like to place on record our thanks, having been understanding throughout the process to allow Sean to take up the position.

“As a club we are thrilled to have secured the services of such a well respected and popular figure within the game, and delighted that Sean has bought in to the project that we have set out in front of us.

“We hope that everyone can help us move forward in this journey we're about to embark on, and welcome Sean back to the club at the helm of the first Team.”

Eardley took over from Iwan Williams at the Cofis’ after he made the same move from The Oval to Maesdu Park. He guided them to the Huws Gray Alliance title in his first season and led the Canaries to a pair of top-six finishes during their first two campaigns at JD Cymru Premier level.
